Eset online scanner can not get update is proxy configured

    Hello all,
    ESET online scanner fails to run from executable; error message is "Can not get update. Is proxy configured?" This was the first problem I noticed while attempting a routine scan. It's the same after downloading a new ESET copy, AND after switching from (shared public) wireless to my direct dial-up account. No way is there a proxy on my dial-up.

    Hi Anderson,
    See if this is the issue.
    Please click Start > Run, type inetcpl.cpl in the runbox and press enter.
    Click the Connections tab and click the LAN settings option.
    Verify if "Use a proxy..." is checked, if so, UNcheck it and click OK/OK to exit.
